Uttar Pradesh elections are getting closer by the minute. This has prompted the resurgence of fake news and misleading claims about the parties and people involved in the elections.

On August 19,2021, Zubair Menon made a claim targeting the lack of alliance building in Uttar Pradesh. He used a picture of what looks like Akhilesh Yadav and Yogi Adityanath having a meal together. The image was used to substantiate the claim that was made on the post.

Fact-Check:

We reverse searched the image and found that the image was taken on May 15, 2019.

The image was posted by both Yadav and Adityanath’s handles. The image is actually with a Yogi Adtiyanath impersonator named Suresh Thakur. While there is no news to fact check here, it is important to understand the intent of why Zubair posted this video. This was done to mislead the masses into believing something completely false. Therefore, this claim is misleading.
