A video is going viral on social media. In this video, some Muslim youths can be seen talking about turning off a DJ at a specific location. Many users have shared this video with a communal angle. Users claim that Muslim youths arrived to force the shutdown of a DJ during a wedding at a Hindu family’s home.
Sharing the video, a user named Prarthana Singh wrote, “This is too much. Namazis arrived to stop the music at a Hindu wedding. If playing and listening to music is so forbidden (haram), then go and stop those Muslim film stars and singers. Show some courage and stop those people. Why did you come to ruin this poor person’s wedding?”(English Translation)

Meanwhile, another user named Snatani Nadeem wrote, “Wherever our population increased, Sharia was implemented. Look at our courage — we can openly stop DJs at Hindu weddings. Does any Hindu have the guts to stop the Adhan? This is the power of Deen (faith) and Imaan (belief). Wallahu A’lam (Allah knows best).” (English Translation)

Apart from this, several other users have shared the video with similar claims, which can be seen here, here, and here.
Fact Check:
During its investigation, the DFRAC team found that there is no communal angle to this matter. In fact, the case involves the Muslim community itself. Upon performing a reverse image search of the video’s keyframes, we found that the video was posted on an Instagram account named “tabligi_shan” on March 28. In the video, it can be seen that as soon as the youths reach the wedding house, they ask about the well-being of a person named Salman, after which an appeal is made to turn off the DJ.
During the investigation, we also found another video posted on the same Instagram account containing full details of the incident. According to the video, the matter is from Street Number 5 in the Shahjamal area of Aligarh district. The house where people had gone to stop the DJ belongs to a Muslim family, and it was the wedding of Mohammad Shahnawaz, son of Chhote Khan.
For further verification, our team contacted the phone number available on the Facebook page named Tabligi Shan. Shan Mohammad told us that his awareness work is limited only to Muslim families. Regarding the viral video, he clarified that the house where people had gone to appeal for turning off the DJ belonged to a Muslim family. It was the wedding of Mohammad Shahnawaz, son of Chhote Khan, in Street Number 5 of Shahjamal.
Conclusion:
DFRAC’s fact-check clearly shows that there is no communal angle in the video shared on social media. Muslim youths had appealed to a Muslim family to turn off the DJ, but the video was misleadingly shared with the false claim that the family was Hindu.
