Claim
A user has shared a video of a headless body of a woman lying on a farm. The user has shared this video with the text: “Violence against Hindus in Bangladesh has not stopped yet. A recent incident has come to light from Bangladesh’s Khulna in which a case of violence against a woman has come up and her head was chopped. Her body was left on a farm.”

Fact Check
To investigate the viral claim, DFRAC did a reverse image search of a keyframe from the video. This led us to a report from Tetria, East Champaran. The report, dated 26 February 2025, on Public App, has stated that the headless corpse of a woman has been found in the Rajepur Thana area in Galimpur Saher. This corpse is yet to be identified. And this woman was wearing a blue saree.

Additionally, a report by Prabhat Khabar, dated 27 February 2025, stated that after 48 hours the corpse of a woman is not identified and an investigation has been started. The report has also stated that the crime has taken place in the Rajepur Thana area.

Subsequently, we also found a video on Facebook that helped cover the details of this incident. In the video, an instance comes where we can see BR number plate on a bike. Villagers have gathered on the spot.

Conclusion
DFRAC’s fact check clearly shows that the widely shared video on social media is misleading. This incident did not occur in Khulna, Bangladesh, but rather in the Rajepur Thana area of Galimpur Saher in East Champaran, Bihar.
This incident is not from Bangladesh’s Khulna but is from Bihar’s Rajepur Thana area in Galimpur Saher in East Champaran.
