A collage showing the aftermath of clashes among Middle Eastern nations is making rounds on social media platform X(formerly Twitter). Users are sharing this collage and claiming it to be from the ongoing clashes of Middle Eastern nations.

Sharing this collage, an account with the username @SilentlySirs wrote: “This isn’t the Dahiya; this is Tel Aviv.”

Furthermore, several users shared this collage and made similar claims. The preview can be seen here and here.

Fact-Check

In the probe, the DFRAC team found that the collage was from 2021 depicting the damage caused by the rockets that were fired from the Gaza Strip, in the city center of Petah Tikva, Israel.

A reverse-image search of this collage led us to a Facebook post dated May 21, 2021, where we found some images similar to those in the above viral collage.

Not only this, we also spotted some similar images in the media reports published in 2021.

The reports stated that a rocket hit from the Gaza Strip between densely populated residential buildings in the city center of Petah Tikva late at night leading to fire and many causalities. The rescue teams provided medical treatment. 5 buildings were significantly damaged. This is how the damage in the city looked the next morning.

Conclusion

It is evident from DFRAC’s Factcheck that the viral collage has been falsely attributed to the ongoing clashes among Middle Eastern nations. Originally, it dates back to 2021 and shows the damages in Petah Tikva, not Tel Aviv.
