Ram Temple Trust CEO Jitendra Mishra Did Not Celebrate His Appointment With Alcohol, Misleading Claim Goes Viral

Following allegations of theft of offerings at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, retired Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra was appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Meanwhile, a video is going viral on social media showing a man dancing with what appears to be a glass of alcohol balanced on his head. Users sharing the video claim that the man seen in the video is Jitendra Mishra, allegedly celebrating at a party after being appointed CEO of the Ram Temple Trust.

Sharing the video, a user named Gen-Z of India wrote: “Jitendra Mishra seen dancing and drinking alcohol while celebrating his appointment. Earlier, those counting donations used to steal; now the CEO is throwing parties. They have turned the temple into a company, brother. There is even a dance floor.”

The video was also shared on Facebook by a user named Defense Watch, with a caption in English that translates to: “From the Ram Temple Trust to a party celebration? Jitendra Mishra seen dancing and drinking alcohol while celebrating his appointment.”

Fact Check:

The DFRAC team found in its investigation that the man seen in the viral video is not Jitendra Mishra, the newly appointed CEO of the Ram Temple Trust and retired Air Marshal. The video has been available on social media since November 2025. Meanwhile, Instagram user Vikas Rana, who originally posted the video, has refuted the viral claim, calling it fake news and clarifying that the man seen in the video is not Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra.

To investigate the viral video, the DFRAC team first converted it into keyframes and conducted reverse image searches. We found the video posted on Instagram by a user named Vikas Rana on November 3, 2025. This establishes that the video is not recent. Therefore, the claim that Jitendra Mishra was partying with alcohol after being appointed CEO is misleading.

We then examined Vikas Rana’s social media accounts as part of our investigation. We found that Rana refers to the man seen in the video as “Captain Sahab.” Several videos featuring “Captain Sahab” and Vikas Rana have been posted on social media. One such video was posted on March 28, 2026, and features a poster that reads: “21st Battalion Jat Regiment Ex-Servicemen Reunion.” According to the poster, the event was held on March 8, 2026, at a farmhouse on Gurugram Road in Jhajjar, Haryana.

Further investigation established that the “Captain Sahab” seen in the viral video and Jitendra Mishra, the CEO of the Ram Temple Trust, are two different individuals, as can also be seen in the graphics provided here.

During the investigation, the DFRAC team also found an ABP News report dated November 26, 2025, concerning the viral video. However, the report does not identify the man seen in the video. It also does not state that the person in the video is Jitendra Mishra.

For further verification, the DFRAC team contacted Instagram user Vikas Rana. Rana refuted the viral claim, described it as fake news, and clarified that the man seen in the viral video is not Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra.

The DFRAC fact check establishes that the claim circulating on social media is misleading. The man seen in the viral video is not Ram Temple Trust CEO Jitendra Mishra. The video has been available online since November 2025, and Instagram user Vikas Rana, who posted the video, identified the man shown in it as “Captain Sahab.
