Fact-Check

A reverse-image search of keyframes from viral video led us to a facebook post by Middle East Eye carrying a similar video with the caption: “Rockets launched from South Lebanon towards Kiryat Shmona in Israel“. The post was from March 6, 2024.

Furthermore, reports from Alwakaai News and New York Post were published in March 2024 featuring a screengrab from video. As per reports, missiles were launched from Lebanon at Kiryat Shmona, erupting like fireworks in multiple explosions over the city.

Conclusion

DFRAC’s fact-check proves that the viral video has been misleadingly associated with the recent attacks in Israel. The video dates back to March 2024, not a recent one.
