Did Akhilesh Yadav meet TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu? Read the fact check

After the results of the Lok Sabha elections, a series of meetings is going on in Delhi to form the government. Meanwhile, a photo of former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav and former Andhra Pradesh CM and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu is being shared on social media. By sharing this photo, it is being claimed that Akhilesh Yadav has met Chandrababu Naidu. TDP is currently a part of the BJP-led NDA. TDP has won 16 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, while his party has achieved victory in the Andhra Pradesh assembly elections.

Sharing this photo on social media, a user wrote, “Akhilesh ji met Chandrababu Naidu. Will anyone faint at Deendayal Marg headquarters today? Will he spoil the fun of the party on the 8th? #NDA_government_is_ready #LokSabhaEelections2024

Fact Check

The DFRAC team did a reverse image search of the viral photo on Google and we found multiple reports published in the year 2019. A report published by NDTV on May 18, 2019 stated, “Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu met Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and his alliance partner Mayawati in Lucknow on Saturday, hours after he discussed forming a non-BJP front with Congress president Rahul Gandhi in the national capital. He also met Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar.”

While posting this photo on his X handle on May 18, 2019, Akhilesh Yadav wrote, “We are happy to welcome Honorable Chief Minister Shri N Chandrababu Naidu ji in Lucknow.”

Conclusion

It is clear from the fact check of DFRAC that the claim of social media users is misleading, because the photo of the meeting between Akhilesh Yadav and N. Chandrababu Naidu is from the year 2019.
