Following this other users have also shared the video with the same claim.
Fact Check
DFRAC investigated the viral video. During the investigation, we found a media report by Mangalore Today dated April 4, 2024. The article informs that during the Rath Yatra of Bappanadu Durgaparameshwari temple, devotees had damaged the vehicles standing in the way and removed them.
Many vehicles were parked on the route of the temple chariot leaving little room for the chariot. On coming to know about this, devotees pushed the cars, autorickshaws, and bikes parked on the road thereby damaging them.
Furthermore, we found images where it shows how other vehicles were also damaged beside the car during the yatra.
Additionally, We checked the Vehicle number visible in the video. On close inspection, we found that the car is owned by Venkatesh D.
Conclusion
Thus, from the fact check it is clear that no communal angle is involved. To remove the chariot, the devotees removed the vehicles, rickshaws & bikes parked on the way & caused damage to them.
