News is getting viral on social media, claiming that an incident like Manipur happened in Meerut where a minor was made nude after rape, dragged, and paraded on the road. Moreover, the video was made by the accused which is going viral on social media platforms.
The 26-sec video of two Kuki women being paraded naked by the mob in the violent affected state, Manipur, has sparked widespread indignation on social media platforms. Not only this, but the incident also caused a massive uproar in Parliament.
News Channel ‘News24’ posted a media report on Twitter with the headline: “Manipur like incident in Meerut; Minor made nude after rape, dragged and paraded on the road #UPNews #Crime #Meerut @Uppolice @meerutpolice”.
In this report, News24 revealed: “An incident like Manipur has also come to light in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh. After rape in a police station area here, a teenager has been accused of assault by stripping her naked. Not only this, the accused made a video of the incident, which is going viral on social media. The police have arrested three accused in this case”.

To verify the claims of the above viral report, the Dfrac team reverse-searched some keywords related to viral news on Google. Meanwhile, the team discovered a press brief note posted by Meerut Police on Twitter with the caption: “Press brief note regarding the incident that took place in Police Station Kithor area”. According to this press brief note, an FIR has been registered at the Kitaur Police Station stating that a young girl, who is a minor, has been sexually assaulted by a man for the past two years after being deceived into a false marriage proposal. Furthermore, a few months ago, some of her associates made a pornographic video of her and subjected her to indecent behavior. Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident, while the arrest of others is underway. The statement of the young woman and the medical examination are being processed.
In addition to that, Meerut Police also shared a video on Twitter with the title: “Byte by the Superintendent of Police Rural in relation to the incident that took place in Police Station Kithore area #UPPolice”.
