Has Shivraj Singh Chouhan been declared as Chief Minister by BJP? This news would have undoubtedly made headlines on TV, the internet, and in Newspapers. On conducting a Keyword search, we did not find any such news or media report related to the above viral claim.
For further investigation, our team examined all social media handles of the BJP including its official website. No such post or press release was published in this regard.
On the contrary, we found a media report by the news website ABP mentioning Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s latest statement over the question regarding CM’s Face. He has said, “The party will decide who will be the next Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, it is not my job.”
Moreover, according to a recently published media report by the news website. Aajtak, BJP has announced the names of observers in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. Rajnath Singh, Vinod Tawde, and Saroj Pandey have been made observers of Rajasthan. Whereas, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar, K Laxman, and Asha Lakra have been given the responsibility of Madhya Pradesh and Arjun Munda, Sarbananda Sonowal, and Dushyant Gautam have been selected for Chhattisgarh. These observers will take the opinion of the MLAs in the legislative party meeting. After the approval of the BJP high command, the names can be announced by Sunday.
It is clear from DFRAC’s Fact-Check that the viral letterhead claiming Shivraj Singh Chouhan has been declared as CM after BJP’s Landslide Victory is completely fake. The Chief Minister’s face has not been decided yet by the winning party.
