Allegations of theft of offerings have been made at the Ayodhya Ram Temple, and several accused have been arrested in connection with the matter, while the investigation is still ongoing. Meanwhile, in Madhya Pradesh, the Congress has accused the government of a land scam in Ujjain. Congress State President Jitu Patwari recently targeted the government over the issue during a press conference.
Meanwhile, a postcard featuring Jitu Patwari’s alleged statement is going viral on social media, with the claim that he demanded a refund of the money he had donated to the Ram Temple. The text on the viral postcard reads, “I had donated Rs 1,100 for the Ram Temple. I want my money back.” Sharing this postcard, a user named Jitendra Pratap Singh wrote, “There can be no animal on this earth more vile than the Congressis.”

Meanwhile, a Facebook user named “Congress Mukt Madhya Pradesh” also shared the postcard and wrote, “Jitu Patwari asked for the money donated to the Ram Mandir to be returned.”

Fact Check :
The DFRAC team investigated the viral claim and found it to be fake. We found that Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari never demanded the return of money donated to the Ram Mandir.
Furthermore, Dainik Jagran never published any such postcard regarding Jitu Patwari’s alleged statement. Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Congress General Secretary Amit Sharma also refuted the viral claim in a conversation with DFRAC, calling it fake.Upon examining the viral postcard, we found that it carried the Dainik Jagran logo. We then checked Dainik Jagran’s official social media handles on X, Instagram, and Facebook. We found that no such postcard claiming that Jitu Patwari demanded the return of money donated to the Ram Mandir had been posted on any of these platforms.

For further verification, our team contacted Amit Sharma, the General Secretary of the Congress in Madhya Pradesh. Denying the viral claim, Sharma called it fake news. He said, “This is 100% fake news. Jitu Patwari has never made any statement demanding the return of money donated to the Ram Temple.”
Our team also contacted Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari. Calling the viral claim fake, Patwari said that he had never made such a statement and alleged that fake news was being spread by the BJP IT cell to create confusion among the public. He also added that donating to a temple is an act of virtue, and no one commits the sin of asking for donated money back.
Conclusion:
DFRAC’s fact check makes it clear that a fake statement has been falsely attributed to Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari on social media. He has never demanded the return of money donated to the Ram Temple. Moreover, Dainik Jagran never published the viral postcard. Therefore, the claim being shared by social media users is fake.
