The DFRAC team found that the claim is misleading. The image of CM Yogi is actually from his attendance at the wedding of Jharkhand Governor Santosh Gangwar’s son.During the investigation, it was found that the photo from Apurv Gangwar’s wedding was shared on Facebook by his friend, Dr. Ankit Moga, on December 12, 2025.
While sharing the wedding photos, he wrote:“It is a great privilege for me to witness the grand wedding of my dear friend Apurv, son of the Honorable Governor of Jharkhand, Shri Santosh Gangwar. The ceremony was graced by the dignified presence of the Honorable Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath Ji, making the occasion truly memorable and historic. I wish Apurv and his beautiful bride a lifetime of success, happiness, and togetherness. May your journey together be auspicious!”
Additionally, on December 12, 2025, ETV Bharat published a report featuring a photo of CM Yogi, stating that he attended the wedding of Jharkhand Governor Santosh Gangwar’s son.
Meanwhile, a seven-year-old report by Dainik Bhaskar about the marriage of BJP leader Ramlal’s niece to Faizan Karim states:“Ramlal’s niece, Shreya Gupta, was married to Faizan Karim, son of Gorakhpur Congress leader Dr. Surhita Chatterjee Karim, according to Vedic rituals. Leaders from both parties blessed the newlyweds at the wedding ceremony held in Lucknow. Attendees included Governor Ram Naik, Union Ministers JP Nadda and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, BJP National General Secretary Bhupender Yadav, and Congress leader Pramod Tiwari. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath did not attend this event.”
Additionally, the team contacted Lucknow-based journalist Abu Ashraf Zeeshan, who confirmed that the viral photo is from the wedding of Jharkhand Governor Santosh Gangwar’s son.
