A video is rapidly going viral on social media. In the video, a massive fire can be seen burning by the roadside. Along with the flames, a large plume of smoke is rising into the sky.
While sharing the viral video on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), a user named Hattori Senshi claimed that “civil war-like” conditions have emerged in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh.
Several other users have also shared the same video with similar claims, which can also be seen here.
Fact Check:
To investigate the viral claim, DFRAC extracted keyframes from the video and conducted a reverse image search. During the investigation, the same video was found in a report by Dainik Bhaskar. According to the report, the incident took place in the Vikas Nagar area of Lucknow, where a massive fire broke out on Wednesday at around 5:30 PM.
The report stated that more than 30 gas cylinders exploded after the fire started. In this incident, over 250 shanties (slum dwellings) were reduced to ashes. The fire was so intense that its flames were visible from nearly 10 kilometres away.

Additionally, reports from media outlets such as Aaj Tak, Zee News, and others also covered the incident. These reports confirm that the viral video shows a fire that broke out in Vikas Nagar, Lucknow.
Furthermore, we spoke with Abu Ashraf to verify the facts. He stated that the viral video is from a fire in the slums of Vikas Nagar.
Conclusion:
The claim made in the viral video is misleading. The video does not depict a “civil war” situation in Lucknow; rather, it shows a massive fire in the slums of the Vikas Nagar area, which spread rapidly after several gas cylinders exploded.
