Viral video of tormenting a tribal woman has falsely linked to caste-based spin. Find the Facts
A video has been widely shared on social media platform X(formerly Twitter) showing a woman in a helpless situation who has been chased and paraded by the crowd. Users are fiercely condemning this video and associating it with a caste-based spin by alleging that a tribal woman has been brutally beaten by a mob and then paraded naked in Dahod, Gujarat where atrocities on tribal communities are increasing day by day.
An account with the name Rinki Yadav posted this video on X and wrote: “In Dahod, Gujarat, the Prime Minister’s home state, a tribal woman was stripped, paraded and brutally beaten! This incident is extremely reprehensible and shameful! Is there no value in the lives of the people of the tribal community, Mr. President?” (Translated from Hindi)

Furthermore, several users shared this video and made similar claims. The preview link can be seen here, here and here.
Fact-Check
The DFRAC team investigated this video and found it to be false.
Our team converted this video into some keyframes and reverse-searched them on Google which led us to some latest reports from News18, Deccan Herald & Hindustan Times.
According to these reports, the Gujarat Police have arrested 12 people after a woman was chained to a motorcycle, stripped, beaten, and paraded through Dhalsimal village in Dahod district on January 28 over allegations of being in an extramarital affair.

Further, the reports stated that the victim’s in-laws, suspecting her of having an affair with a villager, led a mob of around 15 people, mostly from their family, who captured and paraded her through the town.
Evidently, the incident has emerged from a personal dispute and no caste-based angle has been found in it.
Conclusion
It is clear from DFRAC’s fact-check that the claim made through the viral video is completely misleading. Originally, the incident has originated from a personal dispute and there is no caste-based angle involved in it.
