Fact Check: old video of PM Modi predictions falsely linked recent victory of Donald Trump

On social media, a video of PM Narendra Modi chanting ‘Abki Baar Trump sarkar with US President Donald Trump has gone viral. While sharing this video users claim that “Modi ji had already predicted this time Trump government.”
Moreover, several users shared this video and made similar claims. The link can be seen here, here and here
Fact Check
During the investigation, DFRAC found that the claim was false. We found a similar video on the YouTube channel of ‘SansadTV’ uploaded on 22 Sep, 2019 with the description “Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is on a week-long visit to the United States of America addressed the Indian community at ‘Howdy Modi’ mega-event in Houston, Texas on September 22, 2019. US President Donald Trump was also present at the event.”
Furthermore, we also found a media report from the ‘BBC’ carrying similar video published on 23 Sep, 2019 stated “US President Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi exchanged warm words of friendship in Texas at a rare mass rally for a foreign leader. Around 50,000 people gathered for what Mr Trump called a “profoundly historic event” on Sunday in Houston.”
Conclusion
It is evident from the DFRAC’s fact check that the viral video dates back to 2019, not from the recent victory of Donald Trump. Therefore, the claim of social media users is misleading.
