Fact Check
On investigation, DFRAC found “Remaker” is written in the bottom left corner of the photo. We searched about remaker and found that it is an AI tool, which can change the face of a person in a photo. From this, it is clear that the viral photo of Sonia Gandhi has been digitally altered with the help of the Remaker tool.
Moreover, we found a similar photo uploaded on pyotra.tumblr.com on 26 February 2013 stating “Ghazale Photographed by Farzad Sarfarazi, 2012″.
Both photos can be seen in the collage given below
Conclusion:
It is evident from the DFRAC fact check that social media users have shared an edited photo of Sonia Gandhi with the help of AI tools, the original photo does not show Sonia Gandhi.
