DFRAC Team investigated the viral video by putting it into keyframes. On reverse searching, we found multiple media reports. According to media reports Sang Marmar mosque was reduced to rubble in a fraction of a second due to ground subsidence. The incident was reported on June 17, Monday, in the Chudiwala area of Delhi. No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident. The moments of the crash were captured in a video that is doing rounds on social media.
Media reports further mentioned that according to a police officer, fire officials were informed soon after the mosque’s walls developed cracks. Two fire tenders were pressed into service and the mosque was evacuated, the officer said. The local police cordoned off the area and three other buildings adjoining the mosque were also evacuated.
Furthermore, media reports mentioned, that according to an official from the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), the mosque collapsed due to its weak foundation. There is no incident of road cave-in in the area, the MCD officer said.
Thus, the matter is under investigation but surely has no communal angle.
