On social media, a picture has been shared widely on X of a Bollywood actress and candidate from Mandi Lok Sabha seat BJP4India Kangna Ranaut, while sharing this picture users claim that underworld don, gangster Abu Salem is with Kangana in the picture.
Fact Check:
Upon reverse-searching the keyframes from a picture, DFRAC found that a user named Mark Manuel uploaded the same picture on his Facebook account on September 15, 2017.
In this post, Mark Manuel explains that pictures can be misleading mentioning I am not a friend of Kangana Ranaut, nor am I her fan. I am a fan of good cinema. I have not met Kangana more than once or twice.
Conclusion:
On checking Mark Manuel’s profile, the DFRAC team found that the person in the viral photo with Kangna Ranaut is not Abu Salem but entertainment journalist Mark Manuel. Therefore, the claim of social media users is Fake.
