Debunked: Claim of Iranian Drone Caught in Wires Revealed as Old Syrian Footage

An Xuser, Sunanda Roy, recently shared a video that shows a drone struck in electric wires, claiming that an Iranian suicide drone got stuck in the wires of electric poles in Iraq.

To determine the authenticity of this claim, DFRAC team investigated it via reverse image search after taking a screenshot of a snippet of the video. In the process, we discovered that it is an old video from Syria and the video has been on the internet since months and predates Iran’s recent retaliatory attack on Israel.
