Prime Minister recently visited Arunachal Pradesh and inaugurated the Sela Tunnel built at an altitude of 13,000 feet in Arunachal Pradesh that will provide all-weather connectivity to strategically located Tawang and is expected to ensure better movement of troops along the frontier region.
Soon after the visit, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement. It read, “The area of Zangnan is Chinese territory. The Chinese government has never recognized the so-called “Arunachal Pradesh” illegally set up by India and firmly opposes it. China stands firmly against the Indian leader’s visit to the East Section of the China-India boundary.”
Fact Check
In regard to these comments, India rejected China’s diplomatic protest. An official statement by the Ministry of External Affairs was shared by official spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal. India strongly rejected China’s diplomatic protest. “We reject the comments made by the Chinese side regarding the visit of the Prime Minister to Arunachal Pradesh. Indian leaders visit Arunachal Pradesh from time to time, as they visit other States of India. Objecting to such visits or India’s developmental projects does not stand to reason.”
“Further, it will not change the reality that the State of Arunachal Pradesh was, is, and will always be an integral and inalienable part of India. Chinese side has been made aware of this consistent position on several occasions,” the statement added.
India has consistently refuted such claims. India stands strong on its stance. The state has always been and will always be an integral part of India & that assigning invented names does not change this fact.
Conclusion
Thus, from the fact check, it is clear that China’s diplomatic protest was strongly refuted by India. The Arunachal state has always been and will always be an integral part of India.
