People took to the streets and demanded freedom from the Modi Regime and the Indian Government. The video has been shared by many users on X(Twitter).
A Pak-based Think Tank named The Intel Consortium shared this video on X(Twitter) and wrote: “#Breaking Ladakh witnesses massive protest, demands freedom from “Modi Regime” Indian Government. #Kashmir #India”.

Fact-Check
To determine the reality of the above viral video, the DFRAC team converted it into some keyframes and reverse-searched it on Google. We discovered numerous media reports during this process.
According to a media report published by India Today on Feb 4, 2024, massive protest rallies were seen in the Leh district of Ladakh on Saturday as locals observed a complete shutdown to press for their four demands – statehood for Ladakh, inclusion of Ladakh in the sixth schedule of the Constitution giving it a tribal status, job reservation for locals, and a parliamentary seat each for Leh and Kargil.
Further, the report stated: “The shutdown in the region was called by the Leh Apex Body (LAB) and Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA), which, on January 23, submitted a memorandum to the Union Home Ministry, demanding statehood for Ladakh, and status under the Sixth Schedule”.
In addition to this, media outlet, Livemint published a media report on Feb 4, 2024, with the headline: ” Ladakh sees complete shutdown as thousands protest in freezing cold for ‘statehood’ demand“. In this report, Livemint stated: ” Ladakh witnessed a widespread shutdown as thousands participated in marches, advocating for statehood and constitutional protections under the sixth schedule for the Union Territory. The protests were jointly organized by the Leh Apex Body (LAB) and Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA), and saw men and women marching through the main city of Leh despite freezing temperatures.
Moreover, media reports by The Wire and ABP Live also reported similar facts in the context of the above viral video.
