Fact Check: There is no communal angle in the case of a youth beaten by a girl on the road, know the truth of the viral video

A video is currently going viral on social media in which a boy can be seen being beaten by a girl on the road. The boy is lying on the road and covering his face. A crowd of people has gathered around him.

Source: Twitter

The video was shared by a Twitter account named Gaon Ke Chhore, with the caption, “We are not the same 😠😡 We give what you deserve 😂👇🤣🤣 Lesson to shameless Abdul after molesting a young Hindu girl in Gujarat Got it #Sharmila #ModiInAmerica #digitalbreak # GOAT Shri Ram #Prigozhin #Adipurush_Kabir #KanganaRanaut

Source: Twitter

While Manjit Yadav also shared this video and wrote that the case is of Ahmedabad, where the jihadi was following and teasing a Hindu girl coming from school, as a result of which the girl thrashed her fiercely, and the crowd standing nearby Being impotent, except one woman, Abdul will not improve until he is broken #hindujanjagarti

Fact Check:

To verify the claim made with the viral video, DFRAC converted the video into keyframes. On reverse searching the keyframe, we found a report by Times of India. In which the screengrab of the video was used as a feature image.

The report quoted the victim’s mother as saying, “When my younger daughter was going to school on her bicycle at 6.45 am on Thursday, Vijay Sarkate forcibly held her hand and tried to give her a gift. When she refused to take it, he put the gift in her bag and forcibly kissed and molested her. My daughter returned home and cried a lot.” His mother said, it was she who had asked her daughters to teach him a lesson.

On Friday morning, Sarkte came again and stopped the way of the little girl and held her hand. This time, her elder daughter who was waiting nearby came running and the two of them started banging the rope. Other school students and some passers-by joined the two girls and thrashed Sarkate. The parents of the girls called the police control room and lodged a complaint against Sarkate.

Kagdapeeth’s in-charge police inspector G J Rawat said they have booked Sarkate under the Indian Penal Code on charges of molestation and stalking as well as the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. Rawat said Sarkate is 19 years old and unemployed. He is not even a student of any institute.

Conclusion:

The fact check by DFRAC proves that the viral video is misleading. The accused boy is not Muslim, but Hindu.

Fact Check: No, Pakistan’s J-10C Did Not Shoot Down an Indian Rafale Over the LoC Dramatic silhouette of a Chinese-made J-10C fighter jet in mid-flight against a vivid sunset sky, with its afterburner trail illuminated in the twilight. The image was featured in a viral social media post by a Pakistani defense account, falsely claiming that the aircraft had successfully shot down an Indian Rafale jet during an aerial encounter over the Line of Control (LoC). The claim was later fact-checked and debunked by Indian authorities as misinformation.
