A video is getting viral on social media sites. In this video, a group of some people with a green flag can be seen walking, led by a child who is waving the green flag. The title of the poster is “Welcome Rahul Gandhi”. Social media users are claiming this video is of the Bharat Jodo Yatra of former Congress President Rahul Gandhi. Many users are claiming that the green flag is Pakistani while many users are calling it an Islamic flag.

Meanwhile, another user Bhim (Modi bhakt) delineate the green flag as the flag of Pakistan and wrote- “Grand welcome of Rahul Gandhi, by the Muslim League in Kerala.” What kind of Bharat Jodo Yatra is this of Rahul Gandhi where the Pakistan flag is waving? It is not a good thing if it is cannot be a Quit India Movement. At least carry our tricolor flag, the Congress has always worked to separate the country.” (English Translation)

Fact check:

To analyze the viral claim of the video the team of DFRAC fact checks at three levels. First, what is the site of the video? Second, is the flag seen in the video from Pakistan? And third- is this video from Bharat Jodo Yatra?

First, a closer view of this poster shows that it belongs to the Indian Union Muslim League party, which is from Kerala. The poster states that the rally was taken out at Pattabi Mandalam in the Palakkad district.

Second, the team of DFRAC tried to know whether the flag hoisted in the rally belonged to Pakistan. The team did a reverse search of this flag. DFRAC found out that this flag is of the Indian Union Muslim League, which is a political party. After this, DFRAC saw the national flag of Pakistan. DFRAC found that there is a significant difference between the two flags. Below we are giving a collage of the flags of The Muslim League and Pakistan, making it clear that the flag seen in the video is not of Pakistan but of the Muslim League.

One thing that is clear from this is that this flag is not of any Islamic country, but of a political party of India.

Third, we tried to find out the original source of the video, as well as whether this video is from Bharat Jodo Yatra. In this context, the DFRAC team is currently searching, as soon as the source of the video is known, the story will be updated.
