Ganesh Pooja

A piece of news is getting viral on the internet that, the Shinde government have removed all the restriction on celebrating Ganpati pooja. Further, a user named Jeet Mehra posts that “All the restrictions imposed by the Uddhav government on Ganesh Chaturthi Puja were removed by the Shinde government. This is the difference between the formation of a Hindutva government.”

Similarly, many other users have shared this similar claim on their social media handles.

उपमुख्यमंत्री @Dev_Fadnavis उपस्थित होते. pic.twitter.com/B7tjoWf6zH

Fact Check

In our fact-check analysis, we found many media reports covering the incident. Furthermore, from an article of Jagran, we got to know that the Shinde government removed all restrictions imposed on festivals, no ban on Ganesh Pooja, Dahi Handi, and Muharram.

Further, it was also mentioned Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Thursday announced that the restrictions imposed on festivals during the coronavirus pandemic have been lifted. There is no restriction on upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi, Dahi Handi, and other religious events. He said that when the procession is taken out, there will be no restriction on celebrating Muharram.

Conclusion

Therefore, the restriction is being removed restriction from all the festivals that were imposed during corona times. Hence, the claim of the social media users is misleading.

Claim Review: All the restrictions imposed by the Uddhav government on Ganesh Pooja were removed by the Shinde government. This is the difference between the formation of a Hindutva government.
