A video of NRI Affairs minister of Punjab’s AAP (Aam Admi Party) Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal is getting viral on social media platforms. In the video’s short clip, Kuldeep was seen saying, “ if an NRI’s land is continuously on lease with someone, then NRI will automatically lose ownership of the land. We do not want any NRIs to lose their property through this judgment.”
The video was shared on Facebook, “these NRIs want inqlaab in Punjab. They are the ones who flew in support of Kejriwal and poured lots of money on him. This law will apply to those NRIs who support Khalistan.” Reads the caption. (translates Punjabi)
Fact Check:
By reverse searching, the video on the internet DFRAC found that the video was clipped part of the entire video.
In the video, Kuldeep was saying about the supreme court ruling related to property rights and how that will affect the NRIs adversely.
We found the same interview on the official Facebook page of the Punjab government and found the full video of the clipped video that is running all around the internet.
The video is from the 12th of march and the part getting attraction starts from 3 minutes and 10 seconds.
The same video was uploaded on the verified Youtube channel.
Conclusion:
The video was the clipped part of the speech given by Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, hence misleading in nature.
