A Pakistan-based account has shared the claim stating,“The head of the Indian Navy blamed the Modi government for not allowing them to fight, leading to heavy losses for the Indian Air Force and Army.”

Another account has also shared the claim, which can be viewed here.

Fact Check

Upon investigation, we found the video to be digitally altered and the claim to be false. The original video, available on The Print’s YouTube channel, clearly shows Admiral Tripathi saying: “The swift deployment and aggressive posturing of our units held the Pakistan Navy captive in a way and forced them to request us to end kinetic actions. Sir, a few days ago, from the deck of INS Vikrant, you had assured the Indian Navy that Operation Sindoor has not ended, and if the need arises again, there is a probability that the opening will be done by the Indian Navy.”

According to a Times of India report, while speaking in Visakhapatnam during the commissioning of the new frigates INS Udaygiri and INS Himgiri, Admiral Tripathi stated: “In this era of uncertainties and competition, the Indian Navy’s capability to deliver an overwhelming force at sea is a credible deterrence against India’s enemies. We demonstrated it well during Operation Sindoor.”

At no point in the original video does Admiral Tripathi blame the government for restricting action.

Conclusion

Thus, the viral claim is false, and the video has been digitally altered. The original video contains no criticism of the government or mentions of military losses.
