A video is being shared on social media showing several women being assaulted. Sharing the video, users are claiming that a Hindu right-wing mob beat up Muslim women.
The video was shared by an X handle named All India Muslim Forum, with a caption that a female worker of the Hindu Raksha Dal, Sapna Agarwal, beat three Muslim women in Uttar Pradesh on allegations of cow smuggling.

The DFRAC team found in its investigation that the claim accompanying the viral video is misleading. The women who were assaulted are not Muslim but Hindu. Our team contacted Anand Prakash Mishra, SHO of Modinagar Police Station in Ghaziabad, who told us that the claim is completely false and that there is no communal angle to the incident.
To investigate the viral video, our team first converted the video into keyframes and conducted a reverse image search of these frames. We found media reports by Amar Ujala, Dainik Jagran and Hindustan regarding the incident, which identified the victims as Deepa and Suman. The reports stated that Deepa and Suman are involved in animal husbandry. A report published by Dainik Jagran stated that a case had been registered against office-bearers of the Hindu Raksha Dal for assaulting a mother and daughter on suspicion of cow slaughter. The police investigation revealed that the mother and daughter are Hindus and have been involved in cow service for a long time. The report further stated that efforts were underway to locate the accused.
According to an Amar Ujala report, Deepa, a resident of Chuna Bhatti Colony, told the police that she rears cattle. She said that at around 7 p.m. on Monday, she was taking cattle to Muradnagar along with her mother, Suman Devi. It was alleged that Sapna Agarwal, the assembly president of the Hindu Raksha Dal, along with her associates, stopped them near Sikhera Road on the Delhi-Meerut Road. They allegedly accused the two women of cow smuggling and assaulted them. Deepa alleged that people present at the spot rescued them from the accused.
Meanwhile, a Hindustan report provided further details about the incident. It stated that the block president of the Hindu Raksha Dal, along with her associates, assaulted a mother and daughter who were taking cattle from Modinagar to Muradnagar and attempted to portray them as cattle smugglers. Members of the Kashyap community protested at the police station on Tuesday against the assault. The police registered a case and initiated an investigation. According to the report, Deepa and her mother Suman, residents of Chuna Bhatti Colony, rear cattle to support their family. On Monday evening, they were taking their cattle from Modinagar to Muradnagar. When they reached the Sikhera Road area on the Delhi-Meerut Road, Sapna Agarwal, the block president of the Hindu Raksha Dal, stopped them and accused them of cattle smuggling. She allegedly assaulted the mother and daughter along with her associates.
