A claim has been widely peddled where users are sharing that the Internet has been suspended in Kashmir since 2019. Mostly, Pakistani users were found to share this claim.
An account named (@BitterSaba) stated, ” Breaking: internet services had been suspended in Jammu Kashmir since 2019.”
Following this account, another user also stated a similar claim.
Fact Check
The DFRAC Team investigated the viral claim. During the investigation, we found media reports from 2021 which mentioned that the Internet had been restored since 2021 and is fully operational in J&K. 4G internet services were restored in J&K on Feb 5, 2021, where then J&K administration Principal Secretary Rohit Kansal took to the Twitter to announce the news.
Moreover, the stats also show there has been a decline in Internet Shutdowns in Kashmir from 2019-2024.

Thus, from the fact check it is clear that the viral claim is Fake. The Internet has been fully operational since 2019 in Kashmir.
