Who has shared the claim?
Pakistani accounts on X named The Strategic Syndicate and The INDOCOM Bureau have shared the claim that the US government has also halted the sale of 6x P-8I Neptune Long Range Maritime Patrol Aircraft to the Indian Navy in relation to Pannu issue.
Fact Check
We investigated the viral claim. During the process, no such news was issued by any official authorities.
Furthermore, we found a Press release by the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency dated April 30, 2021 stated, “ The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of India of six (6) P-8I Patrol aircraft and related equipment for an estimated cost of $2.42 billion. ”
Additionally, according to an Economic Times article, in 2022, Boeing delivered the 12th P-8I maritime patrol aircraft to the Indian Navy.
Before as well false claim was peddled about the ‘US blocking $3 billion drone sale to India until ‘meaningful investigation’ of Pannun assassination conspiracy’. It was debunked by DFRAC AS Fake.
