Old Video of Delhi CM Kejriwal on Modi and Shah goes viral

A video of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is going viral on social media platforms with the claim that Kejriwal has showered sympathy towards Pakistan. In the video, Kejriwal can be heard saying: “The more I contemplate, the more my body trembles. If these two come again in 2019, if Modi and Amit Shah come again in 2019, friends, Pakistan will not survive. They will destroy Pakistan.”

Sharing this video on X(Twitter), a user named Dinesh Desai wrote: “Today I have found a very old video of Kejriwal, you guys can also see how much he loves Pakistan” (Translated to English)

Furthermore, we found that other users also shared this video and made similar claims.

Fact-Check

To determine the reality of the above viral video, the DFRAC Team converted it into some keyframes and reverse-searched it on Google. Meanwhile, we found this video on the YouTube channel of ETV Telangana which was uploaded on 19 January 2019. Moreover, the video belongs to the TMC rally in Kolkata in which several leaders of opposition parties can be seen sitting on the stage. Kejriwal’s statement can be heard at the duration of 5.40 to 6.00 minutes in the video where he has not made any mention of Pakistan.

Originally, he can be heard saying: “The more I contemplate, the more my body trembles. If these two come again in 2019, if Modi and Amit Shah come again in 2019, friends, this country will not survive. They will ruin this country.” Here it can be observed that the word “country” has been removed and the word “Pakistan” has been digitally added to the viral video.

Conclusion

It is clear from DFRAC’s fact-check that the above viral video is digitally edited. Hence, the claim of social media users is false.

The image was featured in a viral social media post by a Pakistani defense account, falsely claiming that the aircraft had successfully shot down an Indian Rafale jet during an aerial encounter over the Line of Control (LoC).
