A viral video claims to show garbage being deliberately dumped on Delhi’s roads ahead of the October 10, 2026 protest by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) demanding Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation.
The caption of this post in English translation states: “It is a strange sight: Before the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar, do the Municipal Corporation vehicles want to spread garbage on the road?“

FactCheck:
Upon investigation, the DFRAC team found this claim to be misleading. A reverse image search traced the video to a Facebook post published on August 22, 2026.
Further keyword searches led to a local news portal’s Facebook post dated August 17, protest which featured the same footage and identified the location as Panipat, Haryana.
A report by Dainik Bhaskar also confirmed that on August 17, sanitation, sewerage and fire department workers protesting under the Municipal Employees Union overturned a garbage-filled dumper near Constitution Chowk in Panipat. The demonstration was part of an ongoing strike over their demands and caused traffic congestion on GT Road.
Geolocation of the footage further confirmed that the incident took place on GT Road in Panipat, not Delhi. The old video has been falsely linked to the CJP protest.
Additionally, we contacted Aasim Shaikh, AI Expert and Director of SYNCSAS Technologies, for further clarification. His statement was that the video shared is unrelated to the recent CJP protests in Delhi. Instead it was recorded in Panipat, Haryana, on August 17th.
Conclusion:
The viral video shows an August 17 protest by municipal workers in Panipat, Haryana, not deliberate garbage dumping in Delhi ahead of the CJP protest.
