Fact-Check: Video of Eng Football fans’ celebration falsely shared as reaction to SRK’s Jawan

SRK’s Newly released Jawan has smashed the box office on its second day. The movie has shattered all the previous records of Shah Rukh’s earlier movie ‘Pathan’. Amid this, a video is going viral on social media platforms showing English Football fans’ celebration as their reaction to the trailer of SRK’s Jawan.

Sharing this video, A fan of SRK wrote: “Yeh To Bas Trailer Hai, Picture Abhi Baaki Hai Mere Dost��� THEATERS GONNA HAVE BALST ON 7TH SEPTEMBER”

Another user by the name of Anshul also posted this video and made a similar claim

Fact-Check

The DFRAC team converted the viral video into some Keyframes and reverse-searched it on Google. The team found the same video uploaded on the YouTube channel named Heart West News Country but showing the Fans’ reaction over a goal of a Football Match with the title: “Fans at Ashton Gate Stadium, Bristol, celebrate England winner against Wales at Euro 2016”

Moreover, the video was uploaded 7 years ago.

Following this, we discovered this video on a website named ” Kapwing.com ” mentioning: This meme template already has the green screen removed so all you need to do is insert your new background. The celebrating crowd from this meme consists of English soccer/football fans rejoicing that their team scored a goal in a game against Wales”

It clearly indicates that the above viral video is edited in the context of Fans’ reactions to the trailer of SRK’s Jawan

Conclusion

It is clear from the DFRAC’s Fact-Check the viral video showing Fans’ reaction to SRK Jawan is misleading. The video dates back to 2016. Hence, the claim of social media users is false.
