In Uttar Pradesh, the budget session of the assembly is underway. The Governor’s address was held on the first day of the budget session. Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party members created a ruckus in the House over various issues including caste census, law, and order, and farmers. During this time many photos and videos are becoming viral on social media.

A video of the ruckus of SP MLAs is being fiercely shared by social media users. Users claim that when tributes were being paid to Mulayam Singh Yadav in the House, members of the Samajwadi Party were creating a ruckus.

Sharing this video, a user named Sudhir Mishra captioned- “ In the assembly itself. Tribute was being paid to Mulayam Singh, in that also the people of “SP” kept on raising slogans of ‘Hungama’. In that too, could not pay tribute by keeping silence for 2 minutes. This is highly condemnable. Is the opposition so scared of the actions of the Yogi government? ( English Translation )

At the same time, many other users are also sharing the video with the same claim.

Fact Check:

To fact-check the viral video, the DFRAC team looked at the video. In the video, it can be seen that tv screens are installed above, in which Governor Anandiben Patel can be seen addressing.

After this, our team went to the website of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly and saw the list of all the proceedings to be held in the Assembly on Monday, February 20, 2023. It did not provide any details related to the death or tribute anywhere. The instructions for the death have been given on Tuesday, February 21.

At the same time, our team searched about paying tribute to former UP Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav in the Assembly. We found a video posted from the Twitter handle (@myogioffice) of UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s office. This video was posted on December 5, 2022. In this tweet, it has been told that- “ Chief Minister Shri @myogiadityanath ji Maharaj addressed the House on the inauguration of the winter session of the Vidhan Sabha at Vidhan Bhawan, Lucknow today. Maharaj ji also paid tribute to the former Chief Minister of the state Mulayam Singh Yadav on behalf of the House. ( English Translation )

At the same time, @CMOfficeUP’s tweet of 5 December 2022 also states that CM Yogi had paid tribute to Mulayam Singh Yadav.

At the same time, our team did not find any media coverage that Samajwadi Party MLAs created a ruckus in the House while paying tribute to Mulayam Singh Yadav in the budget session of the UP Assembly.

Conclusion:

It is clear from the FACT CHECK of DFRAC that the claim made by many social media users including Sudhir Mishra is false. On December 5, 2022, tributes were paid to former CM Mulayam Singh Yadav in the UP Assembly.
