A newspaper cutting is going viral on social media. In this cutting, a news of the statement of the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind has been published. The headline of the viral news cutting – ” President asked – why so few OBC, SC, ST and women judges ?” has given.

Users sharing this post are questioning why the President was silent on all these matters for 5 years. Sharing this post, a user named Saurav Loyat wrote – ” Listen, now they remembered OBC, SC, ST and women, what did they do for 5 years? Just keep folding hands!” which translates in English.

Fact Check:

To investigate this news cutting going viral, we searched some keywords of the title on Google. During this we found a report published on the website of ‘ Dainik Bhaskar ‘ published 5 years ago. According to this report, the President had asked questions about SC, ST, OBC and women judges in the judiciary in 2017.

News cutting going viral on us The Republic Press Posted on 26 Nov 2017 on a Facebook page called Found. According to this post, the viral cutting is from Dainik Jagran newspaper.

Our fact check proves that the statement of President Ram Nath Kovind is from 2017. Therefore, the old statement of the President is being viral in a misleading manner by social media users.
