Fact Check: Misleading video of Junaid-Nasir being beaten up goes viral on social media
Recently, the burnt bodies of two Muslim youths from Rajasthan, Nasir, and Junaid, were recovered in Bhiwani, Haryana. It is alleged that Bajrang Dal activists first abducted these two Muslim youths with Bolero, then beat them up and set them on fire. Since this incident, there has been a demand on social media for the arrest of the accused.
Social media users are posting many pictures and videos related to this incident on social media. Many social media users shared a video. In this video, it can be seen that some people are beating a young man. Social media users are claiming that this video is from the Bhiwani incident and that the youth who is being beaten up is Junaid and Nasir.

The DFRAC team searched Google to fact-check the viral video. We got a report from Dainik Bhaskar. To identify the man seen in the viral video Dainik Bhaskar sent the video to Junaid’s nephew Javed. Javed has denied that the video belongs to Junaid and Nasir. Dainik Bhaskar’s report can be read here.
Media reports and clarifications by Junaid’s nephew Javed make it clear that the viral video is not of Junaid and Nasir. Therefore, the claim of social media users is wrong.
