Politics has heated up after Bihar Education Minister Chandrashekhar’s controversial statement on Ramcharitmanas. There is a controversy about his statement from the media to social media. Meanwhile, another video of Chandrashekhar is going viral. In this video, he can be heard saying that Islam is the only one that gives the message of love and faith. 

Sharing this video, a user named Major Surendra Punia captioned- “ 3 days ago in Bihar RJD quota education minister Chandrashekhar said to burn Ramcharitmanas Today they are saying – Islam is the only one who gives the message of love and faith. There is a limit… RJD people will support PFI/SIMI just for the votes of one community and will abuse the faith of Hindus” ( English Translation)

Fact Check:

The DFRAC team conducted a simple search on Google about this statement of Education Minister Chandrashekhar. We found a video uploaded on Minister Chandrasekhar’s Facebook page. The video was uploaded on May 4, 2022. In this video, it is told that he came to congratulate Muslims on the occasion of Eid. During this, he said on questioned by a journalist that  “Islam is the only one who gives the message of love and faith. He shared this video with the caption – “Iman 0r Mohabbat Ki Jai Ho – Loss of Hate”.

Conclusion: 

It is clear from DFRAC fact check that the video going viral is not from the present but from the year 2022. Therefore, the claim made by social media users is false.
