Fact Check: The viral video of man distributing liquor is not from Gujarat Elections 2022

With the ongoing elections in Gujarat a video is getting viral on social media of a man distributing alcohol at a rally has gone viral on social media, with several politicians claiming it of recent Gujarat Elections. 

In this video the man can be seen wearing a cap and scarf with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) logo on it. 

A user on twitter writes, “Gujarat model for 27 years ! Gujrat wants Change ! Gujrat Want CONGRESS #GujaratElection2022 #GujaratAssemblyPolls #GujaratElections #GujaratModel #CongressForAdivasis #congress #BharatJodoYarta #NDTVtakeover #NDTV #CongressAaveChe.”

Fact Check: 

DFRAC team did a reverse image search using different frames of the video and found the same video uploaded on the official twitter handle of Congress.

On further, investigation the team found a report on Dainik Bhaskar covering the same story. 

Conclusion: 

It is clear from our investigation that the viral video is 1 year old and is not from Gujarat but Uttar Pradesh.
