Law Professor Khaled Beydon who is known for actively sharing deceptive information on social media sites, once again shared a picture to promote his hateful narrative. He shared a picture in which a woman in Police uniform was forcefully taking away of a girl. Without quoting any background information, he captioned the picture as, “Meanwhile, in India!”
The picture went viral with more than 1.2K retweets and 3.9K likes.
Fact Check
Earlier also this picture went viral with the misleading claim that the girl in it is journalist Ranna Ayyub.
DFRAC has already done a factcheck of this picture. The girl in the viral picture is a student from Kerala, Aysha Renna. Facebook page of Fraternity Movement Kerala, posted this picture on June 13 with the caption, “Police arrested Fraternity Movement National Secretary Aysha Renna N and lathi charged many other members after blockading Natonal highway at Malappuram, Kerala.”
The girl in the picture is Aysha Renna N. She is an activist as well as a history student.
Conclusion
The picture is of old and is not related to any current situation. Aysha Renna N is not detained by the Police. Hence, from our fact check it is clear that Khaled Beydoun has posted this picture with misleading claims.
