Fake news and misinformation keep spreading on social media. Not only social media users are involved in spreading this fake news but also the mainstream media. A misleading video was shown in the news by ABP News regarding the Kanpur riots, whose fact check has been done by DFRAC with the headline – “Fact Check: ABP News and BJP leader shared an old video of 2020 as Kanpur riots”.

At the same time, a piece of information was circulated from the verified and official Twitter handle of the news channel “Zee Hindustan”. “Zee Hindustan” tweeted – ““जुमे की नमाज के बाद देवबंद में हंगामा!”

Fact Check:

This claim made by Zee Hindustan was investigated by our team. During this, we got a tweet from Saharanpur SSP Akash Tomar (@akashtomarips). SSP Akash Tomar replied by retweeting the tweet of ‘Zee Hindustan’ – “Stop spreading fake news. The situation is totally normal! No incident at all in deoband.”

Conclusion:

SSP Akash Tomar’s explanation proves that the conditions are absolutely normal in Deoband. No incident of any kind has happened here. Hence the claim made by “Zee Hindustan” is misleading and fake.

Fact Check: No, Pakistan’s J-10C Did Not Shoot Down an Indian Rafale Over the LoC Dramatic silhouette of a Chinese-made J-10C fighter jet in mid-flight against a vivid sunset sky, with its afterburner trail illuminated in the twilight. The image was featured in a viral social media post by a Pakistani defense account, falsely claiming that the aircraft had successfully shot down an Indian Rafale jet during an aerial encounter over the Line of Control (LoC).
