A video has been shared on social media in which a young woman can be seen being forcibly taken away by some people. Along with the video, it is claimed that a Muslim woman was abducted by some goons in the presence of the police after she rejected a marriage proposal from a Hindu boy.
Sharing the video, a user wrote in English: An Indian Muslim girl, who rejected a marriage proposal from a Hindu man, was abducted in broad daylight and brutally dragged by Modi’s Hindutva mob and the Indian police.

Fact Check :
The DFRAC team found during its investigation that the claim made with the viral video is misleading. There is no communal angle to the incident, as the young woman is not Muslim but Hindu, and her lover is also Hindu. During the investigation, we found several media reports regarding the viral video, including reports by Dainik Bhaskar and Navbharat Times. Dainik Bhaskar identified the woman as Rinku Sharma and her lover as Hrithik Yadav.
According to the Dainik Bhaskar report, the matter is related to a romantic relationship. Hrithik Yadav, a resident of Kurra in the Mainpuri district of Uttar Pradesh, used to work in Bhilwara, Rajasthan. There, he met a young woman named Rinku Sharma. When the woman’s family came to know about their relationship, they filed a complaint with the police. Following this, Hrithik returned to his village. A few days later, Rinku also reached Hrithik’s village. When her family members in Rajasthan learned about this, they informed the police. While searching for Rinku and Hrithik, the Rajasthan Police reached the Kurra police station in Mainpuri. With the assistance of the Kurra police staff, both were recovered and brought to the police station. After this, the woman’s family members took her back to Rajasthan with them.

Meanwhile, a report by Navbharat Times stated that a young woman living in Bhilwara, Rajasthan, had come to the Kurra area of Mainpuri to live with her lover. Her family members reached Mainpuri while searching for her and forcibly took her back with them. The entire incident took place within the premises of the Kurra police station.
For more information regarding the matter, our team contacted Vikrant Kumar, the in-charge of the Kurra police station. Denying the viral claim, he stated that the woman is not Muslim but Hindu. He also clarified that her family members had come from Rajasthan and taken her with them, and that there was no communal angle to the incident.
Conclusion:
DFRAC’s fact-check clearly shows that the viral claim is misleading. There is no communal angle to the incident. Both the young woman and her lover belong to the Hindu community, and the woman was taken away by her family members.
