DFRAC participated in EQUINOX’25, the annual interdisciplinary fest organized by the School of Social Sciences at Christ (Deemed to be University), Delhi NCR Campus. The fest celebrated innovation, ethics, and leadership across Media, Economics, and Political Science disciplines.
Ms. Ayushi Rana, Senior Fact Checker at DFRAC, was invited as a guest of honor for the inaugural ceremony alongside Dr. Jeanne Poulose (Dean, School of Social Sciences), Dr. Shivani Chaudhry (Head of Department), Dr. Jitender Bhandari (Academic Coordinator), and core faculty members. The ceremonial lamp lighting formally inaugurated the day’s programs.
As part of DFRAC’s “Empowered Youth, Verified Voices” initiative, Ms. Rana delivered an interactive workshop addressing the critical need to combat misinformation and equip young people with media literacy skills. Drawing from DFRAC’s fact-checking experience, she presented real-world case studies and emphasized the importance of questioning, verifying, and sharing information responsibly.
The session underscored that fact-checking transcends professional journalism—it is an essential skill for all digital citizens navigating today’s misinformation landscape. Students participated in practical exercises identifying authentic versus fabricated headlines, learned Google Reverse Image Search techniques, and acquired methods for responsible online information verification.
