Pakistan-based social media users shared a video alleging that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi admitted India is funding and supporting the Afghan Taliban to fight against Pakistan.

A frequent fake news peddler, named The Whistleblower, shared the video. It claimed, “Breaking News: Indian journalist Geeta Biswas releases censored portion of Narendra Modi’s speech which was not allowed to air on any Indian media. Modi explains the next strategic advances in full detail.”

Upon investigation, the video was found to be fake. The original footage is from PM Modi’s Diwali celebration with the armed forces aboard INS Vikrant on October 20, 2025, where no such statements were made by the Prime Minister.
