Fact Check
Upon investigation, we found the claim to be Fake. During our fact-check, we found a tweet from the Indian Army dated 17 July stating: “OP CHERJI: Based on specific inputs, an operation was launched by the #IndianArmy in the Hadal Gal area of Kishtwar Sector. Contact has been established with #terrorists. The #operation is currently in progress.”
An NDTV report also confirmed that the Army had launched an anti-terror operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district, with a fierce gunfight underway. However, no loss of Indian soldiers has been reported.
