As the war between Iran – Israel is still going on. Some social media accounts on different platforms asserted a claim. An account on X with the username ‘DailyIranNews’, claimed “Breaking: Jordan says it is a good time to attack Israel to save humanity in Gaza”.
Another account on Facebook named ‘Debora Lyons Youns’ also posted the same statement.
Fact Check
DFRAC analyzed the viral claim and came up with the conclusion that the claim is misleading. After looking on the internet, to find any official media report or article on the claim we found nothing. We also searched as to whether there was any such statement that was posted on any official social media account by the government of Jordan on any of the mainstream social media. Nothing similar was posted.
But upon searching on google using the statement, an article emerged. It is an article by ‘France 24’ published on 17 June 2025. It is titled, “Jordan king says Israel Iran attacks endanger region and beyond”. In addition it also indicates that “on Tuesday in an address to the European Parliament, King Abdullah II of Jordan cautioned that the attacks by Israel against Iran were likely to further create tensions that can easily escalate in the region and the rest of the world.”
A video had also been posted on the YouTube channel called ‘ET Now’ on 18 June 2025. The title of the video being “Jordan King lashes out global response to Gaza, threatens moral collapse over the Israel-Iran war.”
Conclusion
Therefore, through the knowledge that we have obtained through the two sources we come to the conclusion that the viral claim is misleading. According to the article by France 24, and the YouTube video by ET Now, it is apparent that the King Abdullah II of Jordan expressed his concerns over Israel attacks on Iran that posed a big threat of escalated tensions in the region and outside it, and the world inaction over Gaza. He did not state that “it is a good time to raid Israel in order to rescue humanity in Gaza”.
