Fact Check

As the allegation became viral, the DFRAC team probed the issue thoroughly. In our investigation we established that the claim is misleading. When we searched the words in the viral statement on the internet we did not find any published reliable media article or any type of report that could validate its truth.

But we discovered one article by The economic times published on 16 July 2025. The name of the article is “Pakistan back to its dirty tricks after Op Sindoor break, resumes drone drug drops in ever deeper Punjab”. The article continues to state that recently, drones have been found flying around 2 to 2.5 kilometres or beyond Indian borderline thus greatly enlarging the risk area.

Another article is by Times of India entitled as “Pakistani drones back, pushing guns and drugs into India.” The sources say that when they have been airdropped before, it would always be not very far from the international border say, a kilometer in but now Pakistani drones have actually been seen to drop 2km to 2.5km or even beyond that in Indian territory as stated further in the article.

Conclusion

Hence, the two articles can verify the fact that the statement that Pakistani drones crossed the 700km into the Indian territory is a misleading and extremely stretched declaration. Recently, drones flew in India to merely 2km – 2.5km. There are no resources or credible proof to confirm the legitimacy of the claim stated by Pakistan based accounts.
