A video is going viral on social media. The viral video shows a reporter asking questions to a Pakistan-based terrorist. The terrorist is lying on a hospital bed. It is linked to Pahalgam terror attack.
The terrorist tells the reporter about his motive to attack a place and has an affiliation with Pakistan’s ISI.
The viral video is shared on YouTube which shows a TV news reporter asking questions to a terrorist from Pakistan. The video is titled, “atankwadi ne ugale pakistan ke raj poora video”, hashtags are incorporated in the title. The video is shared by a user named Kishan Jangra. English translation of this is, “terrorist divulged pakistan’s secrets full video”

This video was shared on April 28, 2025.
Another user named Antram Singh shared this video on a different social media platform, Facebook. The user has shared this video with a caption, “आतंकी ने उगले पाकिस्तान के राज” and has incorporated many hashtags related to Pahalgam and Kashmir.

The caption in Hindi means, “Terrorist has spilled the secrets of Pakistan”.
The viral video has a news channel’s logo, namely Aaj Tak’s logo.
Fact Check
To investigate the viral video, the DFRAC did a keyword search on Google with keywords: pakistan terrorist confession to aaj tak. This keyword search led our team to a news report by Aaj Tak. This report was published on August 25, 2022. The report features a full video which shows the reporter asking the terrorist from Pakistan about his motives.

The report states about this incident, “A big success has been achieved against the conspiracy of terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. Security forces have caught a fidayeen terrorist in Nowshera sector, who was involved in the plot of a major attack in the Valley by infiltrating the LoC. Terrorist has confessed during interrogation that he is a resident of Sabzkot area of Kotli district of Pakistan. He has also admitted that Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI sent him to India for the attack.”

Furthermore, our team found the short form video on Aaj Tak’s YouTube Channel. This video was published on August 22, 2022 on Aaj Tak’s YouTube Channel and has since garnered over 90 million views.
Conclusion
Hence, it is clear by the fact check from DFRAC that this video is indeed of a captured terrorist. However, this incident is not of recent times and is from 25 August 2022. This has no relation with aftermath of the Pahalgam Terror attack on civilians. No such terrorist has been captured by the security forces in India as of now.
Therefore, the viral video is misleading.
