In relation to these awards an application has been sought through the website brs.inc, which claims to be approved by the Government of India. The Bharat Ratna Samman is a prestigious institution that aims to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to society and various fields. Additionally, the website requests a nomination fee for the application.
Fact Check:
To verify the claims made on the website, the DFRAC team investigated the process related to India’s highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna. According to a BBC report, an official announcement is made each year that lists the recipients of the Bharat Ratna, and these names are published in the Gazette of India. The award is conferred on January 26th every year. The selection process for the Bharat Ratna differs from that of the Padma Awards. The Prime Minister of India recommends a person for the Bharat Ratna to the President. There is no formal recommendation required; any individual can be considered eligible for this award without discrimination based on caste, profession, position, or gender. Only three Bharat Ratna awards are given each year, and it is not mandatory for the award to be presented every year.

Additionally, nominations for the Padma Awards are accepted annually from May 1 to September 15. All nominations are reviewed by the Padma Award Committee, which is established by the Prime Minister. The committee’s recommendations are then sent to the Prime Minister and the President for approval. Nominations can be recommended by state and central government ministries, departments, ministers, chief ministers, governors, members of Parliament, recipients of the Bharat Ratna and Padma Vibhushan, prestigious institutions, and non-governmental organizations and individuals. The total number of awards granted in a given year (excluding posthumous awards and awards given to foreigners) must not exceed 120.

Besides this, we confirmed the process of the Padma Awards by visiting the official website of the Padma Awards. Also, we went through the official notification released by the Home Ministry on the Bharat Ratna.

Conclusion
Thus, the fact check conducted by DFRAC clearly demonstrates that the website brs.inc is fraudulent. It falsely claims to have the authority to confer prestigious awards such as the Bharat Ratna and Padma Awards.
