The DFRAC team investigated this claim. A keyword search in this regard led us to an article by Pulse Nigeria dated Aug 19, 2024. As per this article, Botswana has the highest reported r@pe rate, with 92.93 incidences per 100,000 people in 2024 according to World Population Review.
In addition, another website “Best diplomats” also mentioned Botswana with alarmingly high rates of reported r@pe incidents. According to info. given on the website, in 2024, the reported rate is 92.93 incidents per 100,000 people. This figure highlights the severity of sexu@l violence in the nation, where nearly 70% of women have experienced some form of physical or sexu@l abuse.
