On social media, video of an old man is going viral. While sharing the video users claim that “Muslims don’t want Europeans in Europe to drink beer and eat sausage. How would you have reacted”.
Fact Check
On investigation, DFRAC found this video is from Bosnia. Bosnia is a country in Southeast Europe, situated on the Balkan Peninsula. We found many media reports regarding this video. According to Vox.ba report “A few days ago, two video clips appeared on social networks in which the imam’s costume is misused and Islam is mocked. However, the portal of the Imams of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Diaspora confirmed that the video clips are fake”.
Furthermore, we also found a report from crna-hronika (Black Chronicle) stated similar fact about the viral video.
Conclusion
It is evident from the DFRAC’s fact check that the viral video claiming muslims don’t want Europeans in Europe to drink beer and eat sausage has been misleadingly shared on X. Originally, the video is fake and scripted.
