On social media platform X a user Real Ben Garrison Cartoons posted an image showing U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris posing next to convicted sex offender and billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, who was found dead in prison in New York in August 2019, while awaiting sex trafficking charges. The user shared the photograph with the caption as “Cackle Cackle!”

The team of DFRAC conducted a reverse Google search and after investigation it was found that this is a digitally-altered image of Kamala Harris. This manipulated image began circulating widely following Joe Biden’s endorsement of Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee. This timing suggests a potential political motivation behind the creation and spread of the false image.. The original photograph, taken in 2015, actually shows Harris posing with her husband Douglas Emhoff. The image has been manipulated and Jeffrey Epstein has been artificially inserted replacing Emhoff.
